Maureen E. Weisberg, 68, a  33 year area resident, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Florida, NY. Daughter of the late David O'Halloran and Margaret Eckel O'Halloran, she was born December 2, 1941 in Queens. Maureen was the widow of Leslie Weisberg.

Maureen was an LP Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to care for our mother during her final days. She is now gone from this world, but will live on in our hearts forever. Mom has been such a strong presence in our lives. She taught us about love, friendship, forgiveness, and caring. There was nothing more important to her than her family and she dedicated her life to us. Our mother has set a fine example for us to follow and honor. We will forever be grateful for her unending love and support. We will miss her everyday of our lives."
'Be not sorrowful when I die. I have fought a hard, bitter battle. The prize of rest is mine, earned through pain and strife. Be not sad, for the prize of peace is finally mine.'

Survivors include her daughters Lisa Ramus and her husband Frank of Walden, NY, Lynne Ratti and her husband Robert of Florida, NY, Janine Weisberg and Tad Neidnig of Bloomingburg, NY, Michelle Weisberg and partner Devon Horan of Newburgh, NY, and nine grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Taylor, Cassidy, Leslie, Leanna, Devon, Liam and Sydney, cousin Robert Lahey and his wife Helen of Queens, NY.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Friday, January 15, 2010 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2010. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of The Highlands, Highland Mills.
