Ralph Erich Fago, a resident of Binghamton, NY, and former resident of Highland Mills, NY, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.  Son of Ralph E. and Jeanette Fago, Ralph was born in Staten Island, NY on March 15, 1979.
 
Ralph was an Aerospace Systems Engineer with Lockheed Martin, in Owego, NY. He was also an accomplished musician, performing in venues throughout New York State. Ralph also spent his time as a volunteer firefighter.
 
Survivors include his loving parents, Jeanette and Ralph E. Fago of Highland Mills, NY, his adoring sister, Jana M. Fago of Philadelphia, PA and his maternal grandfather, Salvatore DeSiato.  He also leaves behind his Aunt Jeanne Grosso,  Uncle Dominick and Aunt Diane DeSiato, Uncle Edward and Aunt Mary Beth Fago, Aunt Deborah and Uncle Edward Trask, and his cousins Diane, Jamie, Dominick Joseph, Katie, and Erin.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, Sunday, February 28 and Monday, March 1, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 2, at St. Patrick's Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY.  Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Harper Jazz Ensemble Program, Binghamton University-Department of Music, c/o Michael Carbone-Director of Jazz Studies, PO Box 6000, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000 and Binghamton High School Band, c/o Joel Smales - Musical Director, 31 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905.

Ralph was a very talented young man.He had a wonderful sense of humor that could always make us smile.We always enjoyed the cards he sent the music he played and his incredible wit.We will miss him.

One of the most intelligent and capable young men I ever met. Ralph and I attended the same high school a mere 30+ years apart. I mentioned one of my teachers and he had her, too. Of course, he had to add, "When I had her, she had gray hair. When you had her, not so much." We will all also remember the April Fool's day when he came in dressed as Roland Cole, the curmugeonly keeper of the lab. It was hysterical. I am so sorry that he is gone.

I was saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Ralph on a project at LMCO Owego. I so much enjoyed his up beat attitude about life in the midst of all his struggles. He was such a nice young man. He will be missed.
