Walter J. Harvey, a 14 year area resident passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Warwick, NY. Son of the late Walter and Madeline Weygant Harvey, he was born May 1, 1928 in the Bronx.

Walter was a retired Mechanic with the N.Y.C. Transit Authority in the Bronx. He was a member of the VFW Lake Region Memorial Post #8858, Monroe and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Oderwald Harvey, at home, sons Stephen W. Harvey and his wife Mary of Rocky Hill, CT, Walter J. Harvey and his wife Larissa of Highland Mills, NY, daughters Jo-Ann Jordan and her husband Martin of Warwick, NY, Susan Jobson and her husband Thomas of Peachtree City, GA, Dianne Martini and her husband Phil of Monroe, NY, thirteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday, July 29, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, July 30, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe. Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
