Biography
Donald L. Demi, Sr., a forty-eight year resident of the area, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Tuxedo, NY. Donald was 69 years old. Son of the late Phillip and Hilda Littel Demi, he was born July 19, 1942 in Spangler, PA.
Donald retired after 42 years as a Mechanical Supervisor with Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., Suffern, NY and most recently worked as a custodian for the George F. Baker High School in Tuxedo, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed on the U.S.S. Intrepid and was part of the mission that recovered the 1st Mercury spacecraft.
Survivors include his wife Alice M. Mueller Demi of Tuxedo, NY, his sons: Donald L. Demi of Tuxedo, NY, Christopher J. Demi and his wife Jenna of Severna Park, MD; his daughter Kimberly L. Liberty of Troy, NY; his sister Phyllis Mort of Indianola, IA; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday, January 15 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 16 in the funeral home with Rev. Alex Lever officiating. Interment will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Donald's memory to the George F. Baker Scholorship Fund, Route 17, Tuxedo, NY 10987.
