Biography
Kenneth E. Weyant, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at his home in Harriman, NY. Son of the late Dewey and Clara Coates Weyant, he was born October 1, 1934 in Warwick, NY.
Kenneth was a retired maintenance worker with the Arden Conference Center, Harriman, NY. He was a member of the American Legion Mulligan-Eden Post #1573 of Harriman, NY and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sister Grace I. Kopacz and her husband Richard of Cornwall, NY; his brother David Weyant and his wife Iva of Lockport, IL; his nephews: Michael, Richard & Roger Kopacz and William Weyant; and his nieces: Kathy Kopacz & Susan Keesling. Kenneth was predeceased by his brother Charles M. Weyant and his sister Eleanor P. Weyant.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. American Legion services will be held at 6 PM on Thursday in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 27 in the funeral home with Rev. Alex Lever officiating. Interment will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
