Dwayne L. Sterling-Blauvelt passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at home. She was 83. Daughter of the late Wilbert Dutchess and Lillian Caddell Dutchess, Dwayne was born in Paterson, NJ on October 24, 1933. She was the widow of Gordon M. Sterling and Raymond J. Blauvelt, Jr. Dwayne, with her husband Raymond, owned and operated a greenhouse on Springtown Road in New Paltz, NY. She was an avid bowler and Mets fan since she was a child. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved Iris. She crocheted and read all of James Patterson's books. She is survived by her daughter Gail Dwayne Sterling and Gail's life partner Jerry Crescimanno of New Windsor, NY. Also surviving her, brother Jack Dutchess of Portland, Oregon, nieces and nephews, Nancy Sterling Clarkin, Peg Sterling Zahn, Bonnie Sterling, William Sterling, Keith Dutchess, Kim Sherman, Kenneth Dutchess and Susan Murry Ryan along with loving extended family which included Christina Bedient, Stephanie Crescimanno, Ethan Bedient and Jerry's brothers, sister, nieces and nephew, whom she loved and were important to her. Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 12th and from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, March 13th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. Casual business attire is preferred. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 am in the funeral home on Monday, March 13th officiated by Rev. Dominic Crescimanno.
