Obituary of Ida Vigliotti
March 27, 1920-May 2, 2017
Formerly of Highland Mills, NY
Ida entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2017 at the Nyack Manor Nursing Home. She was born one of thirteen children to the late Dominick and Eliza Nazzaro on March 27, 1920. She enjoyed recalling fun times with her siblings when growing up and working at Hall Line making parachute lines during World War II. She married her husband Dominick (Dutchie) in 1947 and was happily married for 60 years before his death in 2007.
Ida resided at Summit Park nursing home from 2007-2015. She truly loved the nursing staff who worked there and considered them to be a part of her family. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and all of the staff at Summit Park. She faithfully attended Mass every week and all of the resident council meetings. Tragically, Summit Park was forced to close in December 2015 and Nyack Manor became her new home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hafeez, Dr. Salu, and United Hospice of Rockland for all of their compassion and excellent care during all of Ida's numerous health challenges.
Ida is survived by her daughter Bonnie and her husband Roy Belser of Stony Point, her loving grandsons: Gregory Belser (Danielle) of Phillipsburg, NJ and Dennis Belser (Jessica) of San Diego, CA; and three beautiful great granddaughters: Caylee, Emmy, and Scarlett.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters: Lucille Shina of Central Valley, Jeanne Blanche of Highland Mills, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Dominick (Dutchie) and her ten siblings: Angelo, Sonny, Phillip, Carmen, Junior, and Donald Nazzaro, Virginia Luhrs, Anna Paulitska, Lillian Baker, and Betty Chorny. She is also predeceased by her niece Joanne Peck and nephews Michael Nazzaro, Brian Osterhout, and Robbie Charleston, Jr.
Ida will be greatly missed. However, the family takes great comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her husband and loving family
