Obituary of Joseph Kuzmik

Joseph T. Kuzmik of Monroe, NY passed away Friday, May 5, 2017. He was 70 years old. Son of the late Joseph P. Kuzmik and Dorothy M. Gormley Kuzmik, he was born in Suffern, NY on November 17, 1946. He was raised in Mahwah, NJ and later moved to Monroe, NY. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and after the war Joe worked as a mechanical engineer for many years in the defense industry, and held several patents. Once retired, Joe became the proprietor of Spooky River Antiques in Cold Spring, NY. He was also a published author. Joe was a member of Mystery Writers of America, past president of the Hudson Valley Writers Association, a member of the Friends of Sterling Forest, and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Monroe, NY.

 

Survivors include his loving wife--and partner in crime--Ann at home, his sons; Anthony Mancari and his wife Barbara of Mentor Ohio, Edward Mancari of Beacon NY, his cousins; Edward and Mary Grzesiak of Fairlawn, NJ, and his beloved grandchildren; Anna, Sarah, Maria, Sofia, Tony, Billy, Dominic, Adele, and Owen. He loved spending time with his extended family.

 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 9th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday May 10th at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, NY. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
