Gustavo Ritschl passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. He was 75 years old. Son of the late Gustavo and Maria Micaelina Ruocco Ritschl, he was born March 13, 1942 in Rome, Italy.

Gustavo was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and was a retired Pressman with MacNaughton Einson Graphics Co. of Fair Lawn, NJ. He was a member of VFW Post #8691 in Washingtonville, and a member of the American Legion Post #488 in Monroe.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Bodnar Ritschl at home; his son, Gustavo Ritschl, IV and his wife Jennifer of Fayetteville, NC; his daughter, Kristen Trudeau and her husband Robert of Plattsburgh, NY; his brothers: Robert Ritschl of Buchannan, NY, Ermanno Ritschl and his wife Nancy of Overland Park, KS, Carlo Ritschl and his wife Karen of Monroe, NY; his four grandchildren: Elizabeth, Angelina, Danika, Madeline and many nieces and nephews.

A family statement reads, "Gus was a loving man who loved his family and friends very much. He was a man who had a huge heart and shared it everyday. Gus was a man who was not born in this country but loved it, and he served this great nation. He was one of the most patriotic men that you would ever know. He is in our hearts forever and will be greatly missed."

Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 21 Still Road, Monroe. Inurnment will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
