Obituary of William Kopchak

William J. Kopchak

March 16, 1927-July 5, 2018

Monroe, NY

 

William J. Kopchak passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Florida Memorial Medical Center in Ormond Beach, FL.  He was 91 years old.  Son of the late Joseph and Helen Stockhausen Kopchak, he was born March 16, 1927 in Harriman, NY.  William was the widower of Gertrude Pilgrim Kopchak.

William, a retired Carpenter with the Carpenters Local #290 out of Hauppauge, NY, was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.  He was a member of American Legion Mulligan Eden Post #1573 in Harriman, a member of VFW Post #8858 in Harriman, a member of Woodbury Field and Stream Club, and a member of St. Anastasia Church of Harriman. 

Survivors include his daughter, Diane E. Marzilli and her husband Al, and his sister Karen LeBaron of Ormond Beach, FL; his three grandchildren: Natasha McGarry and her husband Rob, Christopher and Jennifer Kopchak; and his four great grandchildren: Chloe, Tanner, Tommy and Tyler.  William was predeceased by his son William M. Kopchak and his brother Joseph Kopchak.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY with an American Legion Service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 13th at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 N. Main Street, Harriman, NY.  Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY.
