Linda M. Capato

August 29, 1949-September 5, 2018

Monroe, NY

Linda M. Capato passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home in Monroe with her loving family beside her. She was 69 years old. Daughter of the late Peter and Mary Franco Ragaglia, she was born August 29, 1949 in Queens, NY. Linda was the widow of Dominick Capato.

Linda was a retired Technological Teaching Assistant with Monroe-Woodbury Central School District. She held positions in Pine Tree Elementary, Monroe-Woodbury Middle School, and Monroe-Woodbury High School from 1990 until retiring in 2011.

Linda was a parishioner at St. Anastasia Church of Harriman, NY and enjoyed volunteering. She served as a Boy Scout Leader, a Girl Scout Leader, a Religious Education Teacher, and a "Friendly Visitor" for Jewish Family Services. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #488 of Monroe and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #8858 of Harriman, and an active participant in the Monroe-Woodbury PTA and MWTA. Most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with friends and planning the next event.

Survivors include her loving daughters: Gina M. Lepine and her husband Matthew of Monroe, NY, Nicole M. Capato of Monroe, NY, Linda M. Capato, Jr. and her wife Katlyn of Brooklyn, NY; her two beloved grandchildren: Giulia and Dominick; her sister Barbara Martucci and her nephew Anthony Martucci. Linda was predeceased by her brother Peter Ragaglia.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, September 10th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th at St. Anastasia Parish Church, Route 17M, Harriman, NY. Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY.
