Jose Carlos Vazquez passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 1, 2018. He was 81 years old. Son of the late Angel Vazquez Paredes and Matilde Villa Sandoval, he was born October 16, 1937 in La Coruna, Spain.

Carlos was a Veteran of the Spanish Army and a Teacher in Spain prior to coming to the United States in 1962. He was a Teacher at Nanuet High School in Nanuet, NY for 27 years and was the Co-Owner of Century 21 in Highland Mills for 22 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Woodbury Lions Club, Woodbury Community Association, Orange County Board of Realtors, and Woodbury Golden Agers Seniors Club. He was Past President and member of Casa Galicia since 1962 and a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Highland Mills, NY.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 52 years, Gloria, at home; his sons: Carlos of Nutley, NJ and Antonio of Saugerties, NY; his sister Maty Vazquez Villa and her husband Felix Casado of La Coruna, Spain; his pride and joy-his six grandchildren: Eva, Christina, Alina, Lucia, Paul and Marcus, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at St. Patrick's Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY. Interment will follow in Cemetery of The Highlands, Highland Mills, NY.
