Obituary of John T. Kerins

John Thomas Kerins ("Tom"), 83, of Monroe, NY, passed away on July 10, 2021. He died peacefully and quietly in his sleep. Tom was born June 28, 1938 in the Bronx, NY. After graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. He married Antoinette ("Toni") Finelli Kerins on April 27, 1963. They were happily married for 58 years and together they volunteered and worked for the Catholic community of Sacred Heart Monroe, NY, Pallottine Sisters, and Archdiocese of NY. Tom served faithfully as a youth minister since 1970 and was member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom also worked for the United Parcel Service (UPS) for 31 years prior to retirement in 1994. Survivors include his loving family: his wife, Antoinette M. Kerins of Monroe, NY, Sean and "Mo" Kerins of Sandy Hook, CT and Patrice and Michael Kainrath of Naperville, IL; seven grandchildren: Johnny, Ricky, Kathryn, Erin, Lauren, Brian and Sean. Tom was predeceased by his parents, John ("Tom") and Mary Kerins and his siblings, Margret ("Peggy") Barbillon and Noreen Angel. Visitation will be held on from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on July 14, 2021 at Smith Seaman and Quackenbush Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe, NY 10950. A funeral mass will be celebrated on July 15, 2021 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Rd., Monroe, NY. Interment will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
