Obituary of Frank J. Kick

Frank Joseph Kick July 29, 1944 - July 26, 2021 Monroe, New York Frank Joseph Kick, a resident of Monroe for 49 years, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, after spending Sunday visiting with his closest family and friends. The son of the late Charles & Otillia Kick, Frank was born on July 29, 1944 at Saint Catherine's Hospital in Brooklyn. Whatever Frank did - whether pursuing his role as husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle or friend - he did with passion, always putting the needs of those around him before his own. He was an accountant for over 50 years for the Warburg Family of Greenwich, CT. Aside from work and family, Frank's other love was to his country that he proudly served as a member of the US Army from 1966-1968. Frank was also a member of the Monroe-Chester Sportsmen's Club and Member of Sacred Heart Church in Monroe, where he also served as the parish accountant for many years. Known as Paka/Papa to his grandchildren, he taught them many things that included jellybeans were a perfectly acceptable breakfast on Easter Sunday; expiration dates were only a suggestion and there is nothing better than yesterday's bagels. His best days were spent alongside his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years at their cabin upstate or spending time fishing and hunting. Frank loved spending time with his family, whether coming over for dinner or spending holidays together, where he was always called upon to carve up whatever was being served. Frank was predeceased by his infant daughter Jodi Frances, loving wife Anita and his best friend and brother Gerard "Jerry". He leaves behind his three daughters: Catherine K. Bishopp & husband Frank of Newburgh, Kimberly Csernai & husband Joseph of Newport, MI, and Karin Tarasenko & husband Chris of Harriman. Frank considered Rebecca Welsh of Chester his fourth daughter, whom he loved as she was his own. He will be missed deeply by his seven grandchildren: Matthew, Joseph, Jillian, Jordan, Dylan, Brandon and Taylor. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Kick of Campbell Hall; and brothers Charlie Kick & his wife MaryEllen of Centereach, NY, John Kick & his wife Sharon of Monroe, and Raymond & Merry Stiklickas of Oceanside, NY; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Last but not least, his beloved pets, companions and friends, Dakota and Cooper. "Right-O, Bye-Bye", Frank—you will be missed by all. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Marc Rappaport for his compassionate, personal care and all of the nurses and staff at the Infusion Suite at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Littman Cancer Center. To his brother John, thank you for your love and devotion to your brother, especially over the last year and a half helping him and being there for him in any way that you could. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe. Interment will follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
